Travel Advice

We offer the following Vaccinations. Some are available under the NHS. Some are not covered by the NHS, so there is a charge.

You will need to make an appointment with one of the nurses At least 4 weeks before you intend to travel.

However it is better to have the vaccination even if your departure is imminent.

Please note the Doctors do not give travel vaccinations.

NHS vaccinations - the following vaccinations or combinations are available free of charge:

Tetunus First Hepatitis A.
Typhoid Polio.
Diptheria.

Non NHS vaccinations - The following are not available on the NHS and charges apply.

Hepatitus B £40 (Course of 3 injections required =£120).
Meningitis £60.
Malaria £15 (private prescription).
Yellow Fever £50.
Japanese Encephalitis £85 (Course of 2 injections required £170).
Rabies £50 (Course of 3 injections required = £150).
Varicella £120 (Course of 2 injections, not suitable for children under 12 months).

All fees are to be paid at the time of vaccination. There will be an Administration Charge of £10 made for all Travel Consultations.

We now take all major credit cards. Cheques to be made payable to Elborough Street Surgery.

Malaria

Please discuss your requirements with one of our Practice Nurses. You will need a private prescription, which costs £15 and our Nurse will arrange this.

If we are unable to meet your vaccination needs you may wish to try a Travel Medi Centre.
